Mission Statement:
'To enhance existing businesses, to promote their success, and enhance the community in order to get new businesses in the greater Verona area'.
Our History
In 1981, one hundred fifty-six businessmen met at Ingleside Resort to launch their plan for the Verona Business Association. Along with Dennis Earhart, president of Dixie Gas And Oil Corporation, these men had a vision of what could become of our community. There were many positives for Verona with major thoroughfares like VA Rt. 275 joining Rt. 11 and Rt. 254, and then intersecting with Interstates 64 and 81. With these major highways the early association knew that Verona would be very attractive to businesses and industrial expansion. At that time, County Administrator R.E. Huff noted that Verona had 40 acres of land East of Verona for the development of an industrial park.
As we enter into a new millennium it is quite remarkable to see that the early vision for the Verona community has become a reality. With the continued support of the community members and Verona businesses, we will be able to continue the dreams and aspirations that the founders of the Greater Verona Business Association once had.
