Announcing our speaker for July: Lori Showalter

Lori Showalter is the Manager of Volunteer Services & Community Outreach for Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah where she has worked since 1995.   Having a passion for both hospice and volunteerism, her role presents her with the best of both worlds.

A true leader in her field, Lori has served in various leadership roles at Augusta Health as well as at the state and national level.  She is currently serving as the section leader for the Volunteer Management Steering Committee with National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization which is comprised of only 12 volunteer leaders across the nation.  She also serves as the lead for the statewide group of hospice volunteer leaders.  An experienced educator and presenter, Lori has taught at many conferences, presented multiple webinar chats and has mentored new volunteer leaders across the country. 

She is the mother of 3 sons, grandmother of 3 and lives in Waynesboro with her husband, youngest son and 4 dogs.  In the summer months, she and her family are often found at Smith Mountain Lake where she hopes to retire one day.
